De Montfort University is the main sponsor and organiser of the prestigious Everybody’s Reading Festival in Leicester.
This year’s festival scheduled for October has been postponed because of the Coronavirus pandemic.
We hope to be able to run the festival again in 2021. We’re still very much active and using the time to develop the festival so we can come back better than ever once circumstances allow.
The next festival will be, as in the past, a community-based festival in which organisations, groups and individuals can organise events in their local area.
Thank you for your brilliant support last year, and we look forward to seeing you again.
The festival is city-wide and last year saw more than 146 events take place at 64 venues throughout Leicester involving everyone from children to grandparents on many of the city’s estates.
The festival started in 2010 and has hosted world-famous authors like Michael Rosen, Helen Skelton and Michael Morpurgo at events. Local writers and performers like poet Jess Green, writers Bali Rai and Rod Duncan and all-round wordsmith Carole Leeming have also made appearances.
