Ask for Evidence: A Sense about Science Campaign – workshop

A workshop event to encourage people to Ask for Evidence when presented with information that impacts their lives. This event is suitable for people with learning disabilities and their carers. Support materials will be available to take away after the event. Light refreshments provided. The centre has full disability access including hoist changing facilities.

Poetry and creative writing workshop for children aged 7-11 years

A lively and interactive session where children and parents can learn fun new techniques to enhance their creative writing and poetry performance skills. Session to be led by Rob Gee, whose fun approach puts all at ease and encourages participation and creativity.

Ask for Evidence: A Sense about Science Campaign – community conference

A presentation by Ask for Evidence Ambassadors from the community about how reading and challenging a wide variety of material aids campaigning. East Midlands Evidence Ambassador Emma Friedmann will discuss her involvement in the #AskForEvidence campaign. Emma is part of a successful patient led campaign to get changes to medicine.

Alex Clegg, from Sense, about Science will discuss the work we do to promote the public interest in sound science and evidence highlighting the importance of establishing the facts behind information we are presented with. Local students will present how they collect and evaluate evidence in their studies. Support materials will be available to take away after the event.
