Truly Poetry: A National Poetry Day Celebration

Kimberlin Library, De Montfort University

Come and join DMU’s Royal Literary Fellow and internationally known poet Debjani Chatterjee as she reads her own poetry and that of other writers on the subject of truth, which is this year’s National Poetry Day theme.  You are also welcome to bring and share any poem on this subject, whether it is your own or by some other poet. Debjani has won numerous awards for her poetry and poetry in translation. She received an MBE in 2008, and this year became a Fellow of the Royal Society for Literature. She has had more than 65 books published. She is also a children’s author, storyteller and creative arts therapist.

Poems for Wellbeing in the Secret Garden

Glenfield Hospital, Groby Rd,

Local and internationally acclaimed stand-up poet Rob Gee will perform Organic Poetry Jukebox based on his new collection of health and wellbeing themed poetry at Glenfield Hospital’s Secret Garden. Leicester Hospitals Charity Secret Garden Project is developing an acre of forgotten Victorian walled garden in the grounds of the Glenfield Hospital for the health and wellbeing benefits of patients, families, staff and visitors and for the benefit of the whole community. This historic green space in the grounds of a very busy hospital site provides a tranquil and inspiring space for people to reflect, create and connect.
