Multi-lingual Poetry
with Some-Antics

Bean Gaming Cafe,
22 Silver Street, Leicester
4.30-6.30pm (7.30-11pm)

In this workshop, you will develop a spoken word/poetry piece in your native language and perform the work together with an English translation on stage, with a microphone to an audience. Rather than merely reading off a page, we will look at things like tone of voice, body language, stage presence and mic control – all to help build up confidence with reading and speaking out loud. The Some-Antics spoken word and slam night begins at 7pm, where there will be an opportunity to feature on stage, supported by a projection of the translation of your poetry. The theme is Translation, celebrating the many languages spoken in Leicester. There will be a featured act who will perform a multi-lingual set and a booklet will be provided with English translations for the audience to read.
