The 2018 festival entries gave us some very creative and emotional pieces of writing to look at. The winner received a family ticket to see ‘Babes in the Woods’ at The Y Theatre and the runner up received a £20 book voucher. They both also came along to the launch with their families and read out the wonderful creative writing pieces that won them their awards.
The 2018 Sue Townsend Winner was:
Anusha Majithia – City of Leicester College.
Anushas’s creative writing piece gripped everyone who read it. Her own love of reading has played a crucial role in the way she thinks and contructs her writing. You can read Anusha’s entry ‘Until I See Sunrise Again’ here.
The 2018 Sue Townsend Runner up was:
Naailah Ali – Crown Hills Community College.
Naailah’s creative writing piece was full of emotion and made everyone who read it tear up. Naailah writes for the sheer pleasure of it and with flair and originality her teachers can see her some day becoming a successful author.
