World War One and South Highfields

Earlier this year residents in South Highfields wrote a book about life in their area during WW1 and of people’s journeys there from other countries. Local poets, artists, and ER Images (82)dramatists, including school children, have been invited to respond to the book and the stories within it. There will also be audience discussion. Refreshments provided. The book, called ‘How Saxby Street Got Its Name’, is available at all city libraries and from New Walk Museum and Leicester University book shop.

This event is suitable for all ages, and is free, so turn up and enjoy!
